More Liberal Broken Promises?

Do you want 4 more years of Liberal broken promises? I sure don't. On Compass tonight CBC journalist Brendan Elliott is airing Part 2 of his 6-part series looking at the promises Robert Ghiz and his caucus - including Carolyn Bertram- made in the 2007 election. The six parts will cover:

PROMISE BROKEN - Every Islander Will Have Access to a Family Doctor
- As of July 27h over 11,000 people waiting for a family doctor.
- Still last in the country for number of doctors per 100,000 people
PROMISE SORT OF KEPT - Publicly Fund Medication
- PEI spent $264/person on medications.
- Did increase spending but still 2nd last in country.
PROMISE SORT OF KEPT - Lower Provincial Gas Tax
- Was 22 cents/liter and is now 15.8 cents/liter
- Only BC and NF charge more gas tax
PROMISE MOSTLY KEPT - Wait Times to Get Psychological Assessments
- Was 2 years before. Government says it is now 90 days, but at least 2 parents say it is worse.
PROMISE BROKEN - Increase Number of Police Officers
- Degraded - now worst province in terms of number of police officers per 100,000
PROMISE BROKEN - Sell Provincial Golf Courses
- Still own courses
- Still losing $800,000/year (as compared to $1,000,000/year before)
